one night or a week at Sunny Pointe Guest House. Sunny Pointe is set amidst
a pristine, operating farm of 600 acres that is owned by John and Sue Ann Spiker. It boasts peaceful views of rolling hills and mountain meadows
where you can wander and unwind.
Tucked away among the unspoiled, rolling hills of North Central West Virginia just four miles from I-79, Exit 105, Sunny Pointe is a tastefully appointed 1800’s farmhouse that was renovated and preserved in 2003 and is furnished with a mix of antiques and complementary new furnishings.
The
four-story house includes a basement equipped with a laundry room for
guest’s needs and a bathroom with a shower. The main floor has one bedroom,
a half bath, a fully equipped kitchen, beautifully
appointed dining room,
living room and sitting room all which have gas-burning fireplaces. The
upper floor boasts four uniquely decorated bedrooms with gas fireplaces, a
full bath is complete with a claw –foot tub where you can enjoy a farm view
while soaking. The bath also has a corner shower. We furnish all bedding,
towels and toiletries for your visit with us. The attic level has dormitory
style bedding with two three-quarter beds and one twin bed that is ideal for
large groups who need extra sleeping area and is a great space for
youngsters. An outdoor gas grill is available for those who wish to enjoy
outdoor cooking. For your comfort, the farmhouse is centrally heated and
air-conditioned. The front porch is the perfect place to relax in a high
backed rocker or on the porch swing. Guests are welcome to enjoy a game of
pool in an ancillary building that serves as a billiard room.
Whether
you’re looking for an intimate getaway for two or a relaxing celebration
with family or friends, a family reunion, a private retreat, a small
reception or just some “down-time”, Sunny Pointe provides a perfect setting
as each season brings a renewed beauty for our guests to enjoy.
We
specialize in amazing sunset views and offer a perfect antidote for stress,
crowding, traffic and noise. As a non-hosted Guest House, you have the
place all to yourself to enjoy at your own pace.
To ensure your tranquility,
there are no telephones or televisions.
You will be greeted by a plate of homemade cookies and then will be left alone to create your own favorite dishes for the balance of your time with us. We recommend that you bring your own food to prepare in the fully equipped kitchen complete with microwave, dishwasher, full size refrigerator, range, and utensils. Catering service may be arranged, in advance, at an additional cost. For your convenience, we can stock the refrigerator for you, with your favorite foods, if you provide us with a written shopping list at least 48 hours prior to your arrival.
